Organic Food

People found many ways to make fruits grow faster and look better. Strawberries are now 2-3 times larger then they used to be. Worms are not eating our fruits. But what is the price we are paying for it? All the chemicals that go into the ground end up being absorbed by fruits and vegetables that grow on it. These chemicals end up being a part of these plants. When we eat this fruits and vegetables we also consume everything that these plants absorbed, including the chemicals.

Pesticides are used to keep bugs from eating plants. If worms don’t want to eat these chemicals, why would we want to eat an apple that has this pesticide all over it?

Once we eat these foods, chemicals that are on them end up traveling through our body until it reaches liver and kidneys. Both liver and kidneys can help us get rid of toxic chemicals. If we eat inorganic fruit once in a great blue moon, it’s not that bad. Our body can take care of itself and rid itself of the toxins. Sadly many of us eat non organic food every day. Liver and kidneys end up being overworked and start breaking just like a car that was driven too far without a tune up. With these organs unable to function, toxins will start building up and will slowly poison the whole body.

Now lets look at poultry and other meats. Chickens are often given antibiotics. Organisms can become resistant to antibiotics. This is exactly what happened to some of the most problematic bacteria that are now spreading in the population. MRSA and VRE are two of these bacteria and they are a very big problem in hospitals as it is very hard to treat wounds infected by these organisms. By giving antibiotics to animals, we increase the chances of giving more bacteria this resistance.

Antibiotics are not the only problem with meat. Animals are fed foods that have chemicals in them. The healthier animal’s diet is, the healthier meat will be. Milk and eggs are affected greatly by foods animals eat.

Be nice to your body, you need it. Feed it well. Give it healthy food.

So much to tell my readers

I started writing about diabetes the other day, wanted to have one nice post that will explain everything that people need to know about diabetes. Soon enough I realized that there is no way to get all the information into one post. So I changed my plan. I will now start a new blog for every disease and will write a new post on each of the blogs once each week. This way everyone will have enough time to read a post and think about it. Try to follow advice from the post. It will also give me time to work on other diseases. All new blogs about diseases can be found in “My Blog List.” If you would like me to write about any specific disease, let me know and I will gladly investigate this disease and write about it.

Each article is based on medical facts. Some of the terminology so rather complicated. I’m trying to make it as simple as I can. However it is not always easy. I’m used to medical language and don’t always know which words are easy to understand and which words are not. I often use scientific and medical words in my day to day conversations, so for me it might seem like something everyone should know. If you can’t understand some of these terms, feel free to ask me for clarification.

Some of the articles are rather complicated and need some thinking. In order to really understand a disease and it’s treatments you will need to apply some critical thinking. Don’t take any information for granted, think about it. If you read about a side effect, think why this side effect occurs. If you read about a symptom, think what causes this symptom. This is the only way to really understand the disease.

I will write about health topics that don’t require as much attention and will post it on this blog. Don’t take me wrong, things I will post here are very important for overall health, they are just much smaller and don’t require the whole new blog. I’ll be posting an article about organic foods on this blog shortly.

Introduction

I decided to dedicate my life to healing. As a result, I joined nursing school where I got to learn about all kinds of diseases and medications. The more I learned however, the less I wanted to use these medications. Without treatment though, disease will stay in your body and slowly destroy it. Medications are there to slow down the process. This is where the big question comes up: Are these medications really slowing it down and curing the diseases?

In some cases yes, in most cases no. In fact some medications are causing more damage then we can imagine. If we would just stop for a second and listed to our own body, we would understand it. Have you ever wondered why most medications have a side effect of nausea and vomiting? Human body is one of the most incredible things nature created. It’s perfect. It doesn’t make mistakes (except for autoimmune diseases that is). Vomiting is one of the protection mechanisms our bodies have. Every time you ingest something that can harm you, your body will try to get rid of it. When a person has too much to drink, body would try to get alcohol out through vomiting. When we take medication that can harm us, our body will do the same thing. Next time you take a pill that has a side effect of nausea and vomiting, think about it. What does that pill do to you that your body wants to stop it from doing?

Have you ever seen the warning signs on medications about liver or kidney disease? The reason you can not take some of the medications if you have liver or kidney disease is because that medication can destroy your liver and your kidneys. Liver and kidneys are helping us get rid of the toxins in our body. This is why people with substance abuse have a higher chance of liver and kidney failure. Illegal drugs are not the only things that can damage your liver and kidneys, medications can do it too. Medications are often time toxic, so when you are taking it, liver has to work overtime to neutralize these toxins, kidneys have to work to filter toxins out of your blood. They work so hard that they end up getting damaged. I recently had a chance of meeting a person who ended up with kidney failure due to a use of medication that she was on for years.

Side effects that they mention on the packages look scary, but they are not telling you the whole story. Let’s take some of the most popular medications, beta-blockers. This group of medications includes medications like Lopressor and Toprol XL. These medications are used to lower blood pressure and to treat heart conditions. One of the side effects you can find listed for such medication is muscle ache. The truth is, it’s not just muscle ache. Beta-blockers can break down muscle fibers. Now, I’m not talking just about skeletal muscles, heart muscles get broken down too. Keep in mind; this is the kind of medication people can be taking for years. Every day they have more and more muscle fibers broken down by this drug. Often times when someone who is taking this medication goes to a doctor to complain of pain, a doctor gives some pail killers. How long would it take for a heart to break down to such an extend that a person would have a heart attack? When this person will get a heart attack, will the doctor say that it was because of the medication or because of high blood pressure?

So, if medications are not always the best way to treat your condition, then what is? For centuries people used medicine that nature gave up. For centuries people went into the woods and collected herbs that can help them. Herbs are not always the fastest treatment, they don’t act as fast as traditional medicine, but they work. I personally tried a few on myself and my loved once and the results were great. If used properly and researched well, herbal remedies can keep you healthy. Non traditional medicine is great in treatment of diseases, but it’s even better at prevention. Non traditional medicines have side effects, but they are rare and most of them can be avoided. So far I encountered only one side effect of a remedy that was used to treat cold. It was more of a reaction of two remedies with one another then a side effect, but after taking two non traditional medications at the same time, both to treat flu, patient had a huge spike in temperature. If he were to take only one remedy at a time, he would most likely be able to avoid this reaction.

Price is important these days. Truth is, a lot of people simply can’t afford medications. Those who have insurance are not hurt by it as much, but even they might have to pay for some of the cost of these super expensive medications. Good news, traditional remedies are much cheaper. I found places where you can get a box of almost any herb for $2.00

The problem with non traditional medicine is that it’s not always easy to find out what can help in each case. You need to do a research and find our exactly what is out there and how it will help. You then need to go out and try to find a place that sells it. Not only that, but the form this specific remedy is in at the store you found it at might not be the right one for you. You might need it in a liquid form instead of a capsule, you might need it as a tea or some other way. You have to find out exactly what form you need it at. Some remedies require special preparations too. It’s not always as simple as taking a pill. Sometimes it is though.

I already found a few remedies and for some diseases out there, and I have them all sitting in my head trying to find someone who needs them. This is what this blog will be used for, to connect me with people who need information that I have. From now on, I will be posting about different diseases and their treatments. I will explain about each disease, about traditional treatments and about non traditional treatments. Feel free to ask me questions. If you have a disease that you are struggling with, let me know and I will try to find a way to help you.
